ABOUT SEMNARC
Southeast Minnesota Amateur Radio Club.
SEMNARC believes in community and contribution to the people of Southeast Minnesota. From Civic volunteers at community events, to helping protect life and property in services such as storm tracking/spotting and reporting severe weather, to assisting when and where we are requested. Many of us have other civic rolls in our daily lives and encourage others to get involved through proper channels, training, and licensing.
We also believe in being prepared. We hold regular meetings and training sessions, we educate, share ideas and information, and we welcome anyone to attend, bring innovative ideas and share in serving the community.
Of course, we also have fun when we can with the radio hobby, we participate in worldwide radio contests, and even though we never win the contest, we win at having a fun time with friends, family, and fellow club members.
You are welcome to join us, even if you have no interest in amateur radio, you’re still welcome. Did I mention we also have many license holders for GMRS? We even have a local repeater for GMRS for those who have a license, we also support members who only wish to get into radio with FRS, of course, we are sticklers for the rules, so we do encourage proper licensing for any radio service, and if all you wish to do is use a smart phone and VoIP apps, we support that too.
SEMNARC is more than just a radio club, though are roots are there, we branch out to include everyone. Also, we have no dues, everyone is free to contribute as they wish, helping hands to financial contributions, to just helping with input to think through ideas and plans.
With that, please, let us welcome you to SEMNARC.
