Club Repeaters.

SEMNARC Amateur Radio Repeater Infrastructure

SEMNARC maintains three amateur radio repeaters designed for reliability and expansive coverage. These systems operate as our primary communications mode, continuing the legacy of the late Gary Peterson (N0ZOD).

  • Primary VHF Repeater (147.015 MHz / PL 110.9) Located on high ground near Wykoff, MN, this commercial-grade system is housed in a secure, climate-controlled facility with dedicated battery backup. With the antenna positioned atop a local commercial grain leg, the system provides robust coverage for Skywarn and club activities, reaching across state borders into Iowa and Wisconsin.
  • Westward UHF Link (444.250 MHz / PL 136.5) Linked to the main system, this repeater is positioned to the west on high ground and perched atop a water tower. Utilizing commercial-grade antenna and repeater hardware, this link effectively extends our range westward, providing spotters with a wider area of reliable communication.
  • Digital AllStar Node (444.525 MHz / PL 136.5) This system serves as a digital bridge via AllStar Link. While frequently used for global “armchair QSOs,” it provides two critical tactical functions:
    • Tactical Flexibility: It can be linked directly into our main system when additional coverage or remote access is required.
    • Automated Alerts: The node is connected to applications that provide real-time weather warnings to our members when conditions turn threatening.
