Welcome to the SEMNARC GMRS Page
This repeater is open for normal GMRS use by the community. Please respect the following rules set by the owner:
General Conduct
- This is not CB radio — conduct yourself appropriately.
- Use your first name and FCC‑assigned call sign; no made‑up CB‑style handles.
- Family use is allowed. For example, you may say “Home Base to Unit 1” or “Mobile,” or something similar.
- Language must always be clean — children listen to this channel.
Communication Guidelines
- Long QSOs (conversations) with friends and other users are welcome.
- Always leave breaks in your transmissions so others can join in or make calls.
Restrictions
- No business operations are permitted. You cannot use this repeater for delivery services, farming, or other commercial activity.
- This repeater is for SEMNARC family and friends use only.
Emergency & Weather Use
- During severe weather, the repeater is reserved for SKYWARN use only.
- All other communications must wait until the repeater is cleared for normal operations.
- An announcement will be made when SKYWARN is active. If storms are occurring, assume the repeater is in SKYWARN use.
Traveler Assistance
- This repeater is open to travelers in need of roadside assistance, especially if “Travelers Channel 20” is busy with local CB users who do not follow guidelines.
Final Note
While other repeaters may have different rules, these are our rules, and you are expected to follow them. Remember: GMRS radio is not a right, but a privilege granted by the FCC and by each repeater owner.
