Join SEMNARC
Becoming a member of SEMNARC is simple: just show up at one of our meetings, and you’re in. You can get involved as much or as little as you like. Our group is active in exploring the many facets of amateur radio, and we maintain a deep interest in weather through our Fillmore County Skywarn spotter group.
Even if you have no interest in amateur radio, you are still welcome! We support members across all platforms—from licensed GMRS users and FRS enthusiasts to those who prefer using smartphones and VoIP apps. While we encourage proper licensing for any radio service, we value participation above all. We even participate in radio contests; while we may not always take home the trophy, we always win at having a great time with friends and family.
Weekly Nets
Join us for our scheduled on-air gatherings:
- Amateur Radio Net: Sunday evenings at 7:45 PM on the linked 147.015+ (PL 110.9) and 444.250+ (PL 136.5)repeaters.
- GMRS Net: Saturday nights at 8:00 PM on the 462.575 +5MHz (PL 136.5) repeater (CH 16R). Just check in with your GMRS callsign.
Leadership & Roles
- President: Jim Miller (KD0ORR)
- Cofounder: Justin Johnson (KE0DXG)
- Technical Advisor: (Position Open)
- We will train to fill this role! Must be willing to become proficient in Linux, electronics, networking, and RF (repeaters, duplexers, R56/NEC standards). Expect late nights and hours of research. The pay is “awesome”—lots of zeros (and no other numbers). Just kidding, of course; this is a volunteer position.
Welcome to SEMNARC!
